The bio-based films we source are biodegradable with a home compostability rating. They are made from a combination of corn, potato starch, cassava, wood pulp, and beetroot. Our standard press-to-close zippers are also biodegradable and carry a home compostability rating. Our child-resistant zippers carry an industrial compostability rating. Ours are most often made from bio-based resins renewably sourced from dent corn nearby manufacturer locations. Other renewable sources for bio-based resin can include soybean oil, sugarcane, beetroot, and algae. Pouches made from these materials can perform well with many applications but are ideal for food-based, non-toxic, and non-liquid products. What types of materials / substrates are offered? What are their differences?

All of our biofilm materials are biodegradable with either a certified home or industrial compostability rating.

The shelf life of our materials is comparable to other alternative flexible packaging offerings assuming they are stored in a dry, room-temperature environment. If you are uncertain, we recommend testing with your product to determine if it fits your shelf life needs.

Compostable Materials:

White - A durable option that protects against moisture, light, and oxygen, with strong puncture resistance. The solid white outer layer makes designs pop with bright, bold color.

What do I do if I'm not satisfied with my order?

Hey there! We really want you to be happy with your WildKind Packaging order, and we’re also super passionate about keeping things sustainable. So, if something isn’t quite right with your pouches, here’s how we can help:

Let us know within 30 days: Just give us a heads-up about any issues you spot within 30 days of your order arriving. Some defects are to be expected but not more than 5-10 percent of the order. We do include extra pouches to help account for this possibility.
Send back any wonky pouches: We’ll ask you to return any defective pouches so we can take a good look and make sure they’re composted or recycled properly. This helps us close the loop and keep our environmental footprint light!
We’ll make it right:You can choose to get a credit for the value of the defective pouches towards your next order.
Or, we can reprint the affected quantity for you. Just keep in mind that reprints go into our production schedule, so there might be a little wait.
For a totally messed up order: If, by chance, your entire order is defective, we’ll give you a full credit or a complete reprint – whatever works best for you!

Short answer: Yes, all of our materials are FDA compliant.

Longer, more technical, answer: The contact layer film of the listed products are in compliance with 21 CFR 177.1520(c)2.1 and 3.2, 21 CFR 177.1350 and 178.3297 and may be used in contact with all food types defined in Table 1 of 21 CFR 176.170(c) at conditions of use E-G as defined in Table 2 of 21 CFR 176.170(c).

We perform in-process quality testing during production to verify seal integrity and functional performance. Testing methods include burst testing, vacuum seal testing, and visual seal inspections.
