While our compostable, child-resistant zippers (manufactured by Fresh-Lock®) will certainly help make your product packaging meet standards for child-resistance, using the zipper does not automatically make your overall product packaging “child-resistant”.
Your finished pouch design itself must also meet the necessary requirements, and it should undergo its own research and lab testing to be certified child-resistant by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. This step, which can be costly, should be completed before making any specific child-resistant claim on your pouch design.
